We are all looking forward to a new healthy and happy new year in 2023. The first step to a healthy and happy new year is to reflect on our habits and prepare lifestyle changes to improve ourselves.
The best way to improve upon your;
1- Correct toothbrushing technique and an electric toothbrush
One of the most effective ways to clean your teeth is with an electric toothbrush. Also remember the technique of using an electric toothbrush is different than a manual toothbrush.

2- Include tongue cleaning to your routine.
Plaque accumulation on the tongue is one of the major causes of Halitosis (bad breath). Utilizing a tongue brush after brushing your teeth is essential.
3- Maintain a healthy diet
Certain foods help protect teeth from developing cavities or for the cavities to progress. For example foods with calcium that are fibrous and crunchy (carrots, apples, broccoli), and that are high in healthy fats, similar to those in almonds and avocados.
4- Give up all forms of tobacco
Letting go of all tobacco products, whether its chewable tobacco, shisha (Hookah), cigarettes or even electronic cigarettes can improve oral health drastically.
5- Regularize your dental visit
Always remember, if you have pain, it’s too late. Attend your recare visits whether its every 3 months, 6 months or yearly depending on your caries risk assessment.
